Enjoyed this a lot, Crystal. I really enjoy how you explain your process. I love watching and hearing people describe this. It helps 'hit home' for me in my own practice and making improvements. Thanks so much for your video! A natural teacher.
Phenomenal work, Crystal! I've binged a few of your videos. Stunning work. Selfishly would love to see more of your oil work. I love your brushwork and colors.
Do you need to Gesso the Wood when painting with Liquitex Acrylic INKS????
I gave up on clouds! This video is so inspiring and so clear. Thank you for making it. I cannot wait to dive back into my cloud study!
Do you have a suggestion for how to get rid of wood fibers after already painting it? I can’t see the fibers but I can feel it on one of the drawer fronts.
I’m not sure I know exactly what you’re asking - but I recommends sanding with a light gauge sandpaper. That should take care of the surface.
Awesome
EYE needed thissssssssssssssssss in my life.
Haha! Happy to help ❤
Hi, is this workshop still available?
Thank you for your inquiry ! We are no longer taking registration for this one but you can view other options here in my website: crystalbeshara.com/about-the-instructor
@@CrystalBesharaArtist I would be interested If someone drops out. I live on PEI.
Thanks Crystal, very clear and concise presentation :-)
👍
I clicked on the amazon link for the mesh and I couldn't find an 8x10 panel. only 6x8. Is this what you bought ?
I read that Prussian blue a fugitive color? Is that true?
It depends on the brand but many archivists indicate “The modern pigment is lightfast, except when mixed with an abundance of white.” Which of course as a purist most don’t use white. That said you can use WINSOR BLUE if you’re concerned - however I’ve looked back at paintings of mine that are over 30 years old and nothing has changed. Hope this helps !
This was SO VERY HELPFUL!!!! Thank you so much, @@CrystalBesharaArtist!!! May I ask what brand you used?
@@ValleyMermaid for sure ! I use DA VINCI - here’s a video on exactly how I set up my palette 🎨 ruclips.net/video/5E0337ydmso/видео.htmlsi=t3dtvaz_oYsbpxv5

Beautiful clouds rendered well and clear narrative which is very important for any demo. Loved the visuals of cloud illustrations to explain the types of clouds. Personally I would prefer using cooler colours to make the grey in the stormy clouds. Fantastic demo 👍🏻
Brilliant
thanks a lot Ma’am, now the four wedges at the back side of koh i nootr pencil cap makes a sence
This was so helpful! Thank you so much! I purchased it all and it’s almost working. The only thing is that my panels are just couple inches too wide so they are not stretched. My pop tent is 10x10 but as it goes up I believe it just gets a little smaller. The meshes actual size is 9’6” and I feel like if it was 9’ it would be the perfect stretch so I can hang pieces off it. Any idea on how I could fix that? How to make it couple inches smaller? Or maybe you hack to stretch it better ? Thank you so much!❤
where did you get your mesh panel from I'm only seeing 6x8
DOES NOT WORK RUINED MY DRAWING
I am sorry to hear this. Unfortunately this demo is for watercolour paintings - not drawings. Always good idea to test these things first in a separate sheet. 140lb Watercolour paper is very different than drawing paper
@@CrystalBesharaArtist I used normal printer paper.
Beautifully executed, love your paintings too. O definitely will ne trying out that plastic mesh for my upcoming shows. Where did you get your tent frame? Is it flourish?
What is the thickness of the sides and front/back panels?
Any tips on making it tight?
You can use tent pegs, or more bungee cords. Us artists are clever - use what makes sense for you!
So helpful! Did you put the mesh wall over wall the tent comes with? or did you only use the mesh?
The mesh panels should hang inside the walls of your tent. The tent walls will help to break the wind and protect you from rain. while the mesh is what you will hang your work from!
Everything you said I have been feeling myself. It can be very discouraging and I think about quitting probably every day, I’ve wanted to be a working artist my whole life (now almost 60) but needed to support myself and have been a teacher my entire career. The last year I have been focusing on learning and improving as an artist and my hope is that I can sell my first painting soon. I love your videos, they are so helpful, thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your expertise.
Thank YOU for watching and for taking the time to comment. These conversations are important !
Excellent 😊
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a beginner for watercolor. I’ll keep watching your videos to learn about it. Thank you again😊
Thank you for subscribing dear Rita! I hope you gain a lot from my channel. When you’re ready take a peek at these full tutorial that may also help you to get a better understanding of this wonderful medium crystalbeshara.com/shopvideos
so helpful and thank you for sharing
Thank You! Thank you! Thank You!! I’m doing a show next weekend following your template to the TEE! I’ll post pics, so ready to give up the furniture/tables/shelves ect
Woohoo! Good luck !
What did you use for the frame like it looks like a pipe and drape set up what pipes specifically did you use?
Hi! As mentioned in a previous post - this is actually a horse stall ! But this works for a 10x10 tent. Have a look at the description for all of the info and good luck !
The link for the tent on Amazon shows up as a shade mesh panel. What tent did you recommend? Is it sturdy and robust? Also, I would love to see how the cables were hung on tent poles. If they are hung horizontally did you drill holes in the tent poles to keep them in place from sliding down? Or were they hung vertically from the tent's top poles?
Thank you 👍
You are welcome
Great lesson!
Glad you liked it!
Hi, what's the soap used for in watercolour painting? Cleaning the brushes, or something else? I'd appreciate someone replying please as I'm quite new to WC.
That someone is me :) I use the soap to protect my brushes when I’m using masking fluid. If you’re a newbie, you may want to check out my playlist designed for people just like you. You’ve got this !
This was a great video! I would love to give you a "Super Thanks"!
Thanks very much ! That would be so appreciated. Just tap that heart the the dollar sign symbol 😊
This looks so much like an old ox my neighbor had-- it's uncanny! His name was Nip. Beautiful art!
Hahah! What an awesome name. I wish I had a Texas longhorn as a neighbour ❤
Thank you thank you thank you. AAAANNNND Thank you. So sleek. So chic. So helpful!
You are so welcome!
Wow looks incredible!
What do you do about the thick grass created when the bristles clump together, it drives me nuts and spoils the painting. I’m new to painting.
Me too! I know what you're saying. That is why I designed this brush. It's the only one that does not clump. I also use it for fur and trees too. It's a miracle worker crystalbeshara.com/brushes/flingfanbrush
Your so tolking girl😊 and slow🐌🐌 🐢🐢🐛
Thank you so much. It was a pleasure to see the elements and the work of the brushes.❤
Thanks for your generous words ! Cheers :)
Wow, what a stunning painting! The silver gives it extra dimension, that extra something that one sees in Eastern Orthodox religious icons. I love it. And it’s also very satisfying to watch 😊
Thank you so very much !
wow!!! this is my first time seeing silver leaf instead of gold 😮 i feel a bit silly for not imagining it existing before this 😅😅😅 what a lovely painting! i love how "soft" the colors and brushstrokes on the cow(?) looks in contrast to the vibrant metallics!
It's so nice that you took the time to comment. I so appreciate you watching! You're right the silver is so soft. It was scary, but I am glad I did it!
Thank you, so clear and really instructive. Lovely clouds really appreciate you sharing your amazing skill.
You are very welcome
Ingenious! I wish I had seen such a video 10 years ago! I am certain that you have helped many people with these suggestions!!
I hope sure hope so! I wish I had discovered this back then too ! 😆
@CrystalBesharaArtist me too. I had to do a lot of brain storming, so I came up with garden fence grids, but am gonna switch to these plastic mesh cloths...flourish is sort of like Apple, ridiculous prices...I can't believe just one of their mesh walls cost $360🤦♂️😄
do you varnish your paintings on wood?
Yes I highly recommend varnishing your painting with the appropriate varnish and, after an appropriate amount of time
@@CrystalBesharaArtist thank you so much!
Yes.... Agreed...Already have started that a few years ago... Rome was not built in a day... You have to let them SEE what you are capable of first
Love your style!! Thank you!
Do you know will this fan brush will be available again?
Hi Shannon ! I actually have two in stock. My website says otherwise, but that is just a way to ensure I haven’t miscounted. They are my last two however! You can email me at crystal@crystalbeshara.com if you’d like and I can work that out with you!
So funny and cute!
I watched another video earlier where the artist said to be mindful of what you are wetting before you wet the paper and why you are doing for what effect you are wanting. This is what you hit on in your video as well. I can’t wait to try all of your tips and tricks. ❤
Thank for watching and for taking the time to comment! GOOD LUCK!
